5-Year Limited Warranty

Crest Alert 5-Year Limited Warranty

Effective Date: 1 December 2025

1. Limited Warranty Coverage

Crest Alert, LLC warrants that each Crest Alert alarm system cabinet and its factory-installed system components will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of five (5) years.

This Limited Warranty applies only to Crest Alert alarm system components manufactured, assembled, or factory-installed by Crest Alert, LLC.

This Limited Warranty is tied to the unit serial number and remains with the unit, not the original purchaser. If ownership of the property or system changes, any remaining warranty coverage stays with the unit.

The warranty period begins on the first day of the month following the unit’s date of manufacture.

2. What Crest Alert Will Do

If a covered defect in materials or workmanship is reported during the warranty period, Crest Alert, LLC will, at its sole option:

repair the defective component,

replace the defective component, or

provide a replacement component of equal or comparable function, as reasonably determined by Crest Alert.

Any repaired or replacement part provided under this Limited Warranty will be covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period.

3. What Is Covered

This Limited Warranty covers defects in the Crest Alert system caused by defective materials or workmanship under normal intended use, including factory-installed components such as:

control cabinet,

internal relays and controls,

status light,

test button,

factory-installed wiring,

factory-installed warning devices,

factory-supplied sensor and sensor housing,

factory-installed charging components, if included with the purchased system configuration.

4. What Is Not Covered

This Limited Warranty does not cover any of the following:

batteries,

customer-supplied poles, conduit, wire, concrete, mounting hardware, or other installation materials,

labor for installation, removal, reinstallation, troubleshooting, site visits, or service calls,

cosmetic damage that does not affect system function,

damage caused by improper installation,

damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or failure to maintain the system,

damage caused by vandalism, theft, tampering, or unauthorized modification,

damage caused by accidents,

damage caused by lawnmowers, string trimmers, tractors, vehicles, or other impact to the sensor, sensor housing, wiring, or cabinet,

damage caused by floodwaters, debris impact, mud, erosion, washout, or other flood-related destruction,

damage caused by weather, severe weather, wind, hail, rain, ice, snow, or environmental conditions,

damage caused by lightning, electrical surge, overvoltage, power anomalies, or external electrical events,

damage caused by fire,

damage caused by acts of war, terrorism, civil unrest, sabotage, or hostile action,

damage caused by animals, insects, rodents, or vegetation,

damage caused by use of non-recommended battery types, including lithium batteries,

damage resulting from improper repairs, unauthorized modifications, use of incorrect replacement parts, or repairs performed in a manner inconsistent with Crest Alert instructions,

normal wear and tear.

5. Right to Repair

Crest Alert supports the Right to Repair.

Owner-performed repairs using correct replacement parts and reasonable workmanship do not, by themselves, void this Limited Warranty. However, this Limited Warranty does not cover damage caused by improper repair, incorrect replacement parts, unauthorized modifications, or repairs performed in a manner inconsistent with Crest Alert instructions.

6. Owner Maintenance Responsibilities

To keep the system in serviceable condition, the owner is responsible for reasonable routine inspection and maintenance, including:

periodic testing of the alarm,

inspection of the sensor and sensor housing,

keeping the sensor area clear of debris, vegetation, and obstructions,

checking the charging system,

replacing the battery as needed,

following installation and maintenance instructions provided by Crest Alert.

Failure to reasonably maintain the system may result in denial of warranty coverage for damage or failures caused by that lack of maintenance.

7. Warranty Claim Procedure

To make a warranty claim, the owner must contact Crest Alert, LLC and provide:

the unit serial number,

a description of the issue,

photographs or other reasonable documentation if requested.

Crest Alert may require return of a defective component for inspection before approving warranty service or replacement. Unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law, the owner is responsible for shipping the component to Crest Alert.

8. No Guarantee of Performance in Every Event

Crest Alert alarm systems are intended to provide a local warning when water reaches the installed sensor location. They are not forecasting systems and do not guarantee prevention of injury, death, property damage, evacuation success, or loss avoidance.

Like all warning systems, performance depends on proper installation, reasonable maintenance, site conditions, battery condition, power availability, and user response.

This Limited Warranty covers only defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover consequences arising from use or non-use of the system during an actual emergency.

9. LIMITATION OF REMEDIES

THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS AS DESCRIBED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS WARRANTY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CREST ALERT, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF BUSINESS, PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR ANY OTHER LOSS ARISING FROM USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SYSTEM.

10. DISCLAIMER OF OTHER WARRANTIES

EXCEPT FOR THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, CREST ALERT, LLC MAKES NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

11. Governing Law and Related Disputes

This Limited Warranty shall be governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute resolution, venue, mediation, or related procedural terms applicable to warranty disputes shall be governed by Crest Alert’s current Product Sale Terms and Conditions, except to the extent this Limited Warranty expressly controls on warranty-specific matters.
